Albatross Centre:
Stop at the world’s only mainland breeding colony of the Royal Northern Albatross and see these magnificent birds close up at the Richdale Observatory. Tour Fort Taiaroa, established in 1885 in response to the perceived threat of invasion from Tsarist Russia. Multiple tunnels beneath the albatross colony house the world’s only fully restored Armstrong Disappearing Gun. Enjoy a leisurely lunch break in this unique environment.
